After a hijama session, most patients feel looser and lighter, though the treated area can feel tender for a day or two — similar to how a deep massage feels afterward. Here’s what’s normal, and our standard aftercare guidance.
In the first 24–48 hours
- Circular marks or mild bruising at the cup sites — this is expected and usually fades within a week to ten days
- Mild tenderness in the treated area
- Occasionally, mild tiredness on the day of treatment
Aftercare instructions
- Keep the treated area clean and avoid direct sun exposure on it for a few days
- Drink plenty of water
- Avoid strenuous exercise or very hot showers/baths on the treated area the same day
- Follow any specific instructions given for wet cupping incision sites
